Other Featured Dance Classes
In addition to our regular class offerings we have special spotlight classes. These lessons are held periodically, seasonally or on a guest basis.
Blues Dancing
Blues dancing is a modern term used to describe a family of historical dances that developed alongside and danced to blues music. Popular with swing dancers from all over the world, it’s a form of slow dancing suited to blues, slow jazz, and early rhythm & blues. There are blues dancing communities throughout the international swing dancing community reflecting local social and cultural values and contexts. We’re happy to offer Blues as a specialty class in 2010.
Our Blues Dance series run monthly for just $40 for 4 weeks paid at the beginning of the session. Join Randy & Kathleen on Monday nights from 8:30 to 9:30 at the beginning of any month.
Solo Vintage Jazz & Charleston

This class focuses on solo jazz steps from the Swing Era. From the Suzy Q to Around the World Charleston, the Shorty George to Spank the Baby, take a step back in time to the roots of jazz dance. These jazz steps are very much a part of Lindy Hop culture – free spirited and very fun! This is a terrific class for people who have never danced before as well as long time swing dancers.
This class is running until December 14th, 2009 on Monday nights from 6:30 to 7:30. It will be taking a break in January… but don’t worry! It will be back!
Please see the Dance Lessons page for more schedule and location details.
